Why People Seek Chiropractic Care
At Rider Chiropractic Sports and Injury we offer a wide variety of services to help people decrease pain or fix nagging musculoskeletal injuries
When people hear "chiropractor," they typically think of the spine. That's appropriate, as chiropractors are the gold standard with regards to treating lower back pain. However, our goal is to help individuals dealing with any musculoskeletal injuries. Whether the pain/dysfunction is in the upper and lower extremities, the back, or manifests as headaches, we provide relief and recovery for it all.
Dr. Rider is trained and certified in many different techniques for accurately identifying and appropriately treating musculoskeletal injuries. Most commonly, this includes chiropractic adjustments or manipulations, complemented by soft tissue or muscle work and rehabilitative exercises to ensure proper biomechanics upon conclusion of the treatment.
Chiropractic Manipulation/Adjustment
The goal is to free up a restricted joint and restore the joints normal range of motion.
Generally this involves a gentle, shallow thrust (high velocity/low amplitude) in the direction of the restriction, often accompanied by a popping noise. There are physiological and neurological processes that coincide with the treatment, allowing muscles to relax and pain to decrease almost instantaneously.
